Modelling course deep geothermal energy

As has been done for the last 7 years, ERDWERK GmbH is offering a 2-day crash course as part of a modelling module at the TU Munich. The course is an introduction to modelling and simulation for deep geothermal projects using the software PETREL and ECLIPSE. 

The students create a simple geological model as independently as possible and thus learn the basic handling of the software as well as the most important workflows of a seismic-to-production workflow, as it is carried out by ERDWERK GmbH in the context of deep geothermal projects.  This includes the interpretation and deep extension of seismic data, the creation of a 3-dimensional geological structure model, construction and parameterisation of a grid (numerical model) and subsequently the hydraulic simulation for the operation of a geothermal duplicate on the created model. 

The aim of the course is to give the students an overview of the most important steps in modelling and simulation for deep geothermal projects and to provide a basic understanding of how to work with the software PETREL and ECLIPSE.
